Pleasure Jam!

Last weekend was the Pleasure Jam over in Dachstein, I went over from Stubai with the GB crew where the weather had been bad the whole time we were there. The practice day at the comp was bad weather as well so we just rode the rails in the course and managed to hit the first jump. The course was, rainbow rail, two jumps, multi feature of either two jumps, a cannon rail or a flat rail, then an up rail into wall ride then down rail. The next day was qualis and the weather was way better! I landed my first run which was cab 2 on, cab 9, back 7, front 7, axel stall on the wall, noseslide pretzel on the down rail. It put me first overall into the semi finals, i was so stoked! The weather came back in before semis so it was pushed to the next day. The weather was banging again the next day and i landed my run a few times in practice, I landed my first run again in semis which was, cab 2 on, cab 9, back double 10, front 7, axel stall, noseslide pretzel. That run got me through to the finals which was the top 8, I did the same run in finals and i finished 6th overall! Was so stoked on the result, can’t wait to go back next year!!!

House of Vans Tour

Screen Shot 2014-08-29 at 13.13.48In August I headed over to London to meet up with the Vans UK guys and also some of the European team including, Sami Luhtanen, Kalle Ohlson and Arthur Longo. We took them on a mini tour to show them where we rode in the domes and dryslope. We started at Milton Keynes for a fun shred there and then the next day went to a dryslope to show them what it was like to ride on, they got the hang of it pretty quick. Then we went into London, and got onto a boat for a tour around London on the Thames with everyone from Vans like Steve Van Doren, Geoff Rowley, Christian Hosoi and loads more every team was there! After that it was time for the opening of the House Of Vans which is a sick place underneath Waterloo station, with a skatepark, music and artwork.

It was a sick few days shredding and seeing London and the House Of Vans, check out the video !

Superpark 18!

I got an invite over to the SnowboarderMag Superpark 18 over in Mt Hood. I went over with the guys from Vans Europe and had a banging time! The park was insane and all the features were huge but a lot of fun, I rode with Thomas Delfino and Sami Luhtanen the time I was there, the weather wasn’t the best the whole time but we made the most of the nice days definitely a awesome time and experience and would be awesome to go again!!

Competitions !

Been a busy past few weeks with a few competitions one after the other, the first comp being the Shred Down Austrian Masters Slopestyle in Westendorf. The comp went over two days again the first day was on the rails and then the second day on the jumps. The first day went pretty good got my run on the rails, cab 1 back 3, back blunt 270 out, front board 270 that run put me 2nd overall, then on the jumps the next day I did, cab double 9 to back 7, then cab double 9 to back double 10 but just did a little but check on the 10 but still landed it. They added the scores up and I won the rookie category and the overall category so I was pretty stoked to win both!

The next comp was the Spring Battle over in Flachauwinkl this year was the first time the comp had done open qualifications so why not go and give it a go. They built a decent sized jump at the top and there were some pretty good riders in the qualis, I had coach Billy Morgan there helping me out he was invited so I wanted to get through to ride with him I managed to land back double 10 in the comp and that put me in 9th to qualify through to the semis so that made my day! The next day was training for all the invited riders I landed my back 10 again and Billy did back triple 14 to get through to the finals. I ended up 17th overall which isn’t to bad with all the guys who were there, Billy ended up winning it with a back triple 16 which was perfect so huge well done to him!!!

The most recent comp was the Vans Hi-Standard on Saturday here in Mayrhofen, it was such a fun comp nothing over a 7 on the jump and all based on style and then a rail jam on the stairset, all the Vans UK crew were out so it was fun riding with all them again. I managed to win the overall category here as well so it was a pretty good day, won some money and had a awesome day what more could you want! We filmed an edit the day before because the weather was meant to come in so we played it safe and filmed that day instead, hope you enjoy it !

Kaunertal Street vs Snow

At the weekend I headed over to Kaunertal for the Street vs Snow rail comp with Jamie Trinder. It was a team comp and the format was team vs team, each rider had five runs and were scored from 1 to 5 for each trick , they would then add up the scores from both riders in the team to get the overall score. The setup was pretty cool, lots of different features to hit and be creative, two down rails, gap to rail, rail to wall-ride, flat rail to stairs. We were the last team to ride and we were up against Michi Schatz and Andre Bergamaschi, unfortunately we missed out on the 2nd round by one point which was pretty gutting but I was also stoked on some of the tricks I landed like backside nose press back 3 out and 50-50 450 into the wall.

Here is the video of the battle:
